SUMMARY:1st Annual Savanna Kayak River Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our 1st Annual Free Kayaking Event cleaning up the river. Choose to start at the US 52 Green Island boat launch in the Maquoketa River (5-6 hour trek) or Miller’s Hollow boat launch (2-3 hour trek) and end at the Savanna Marina.\nWe will supply:\n– Garbage bags\n– Kayaks\, paddles and life vests for up to 15 people\n– Transportation\n– Waste disposal\nBring your own gloves\, personal items and food/water for the trek.  If you’d like to join us with your own kayak\, we can transport the kayak to the drop-in.\nWe will have a pontoon boat to help with any full trash bags from kayakers or larger items found on the river.\nWe will meet at the old Shopko Parking lot\, 251 S 4th St in Savanna.\n10am –\nTransportation to Green Island.\n12pm –\nTransportation to Millers Hollow\nAnyone wanting to reserve their spot in one of our kayaks\, please leave a comment and we’ll hold a kayak for you and expect your commitment to the event.\nAnyone else with a boat that would like to join\, we can work together to check in on all the kayakers. \nIf you have any questions or suggestions\, please reach out to us on here or call us directly at 815-905-1227\nRain Date of May 1st
