This week the Illinois Department of Transportation announced that construction on U.S. 20 in Elizabeth will begin Monday, July 22. The work zone is from Scales Mound Road to East Street.
The project will include patching the road, and will require daily lane closures controlled by flaggers: Motorists can expect delays and should drive with caution.
