To honor “Mom and Pop Business Owner’s Day,” House Minority Leader Tony McCombie visited a small business who recently opened up shop in the state Capitol.
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, who maintains the Illinois Capitol Complex, issued a solicitation requesting bids to open the first-ever independently and locally owned and operated coffee station in the Illinois Capitol Building. Jacksonville based Elm City Roastery was the winning bidder–and they launched their operation today.
Opening day drew a crowd of excited coffee patrons, including Rep. McCombie. It was a monumental day for the Representative to not only celebrate a small business, the first ever to operate within the Capitol, but also welcome them to the statehouse!
McCombie encourages any residents visiting the Capitol to pay a visit to Elm City Roastery and try out their great coffee selection.
