The Erie High School National Honor Society (NHS) is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, December30 in the high school commons in conjunction with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC).
The drive is scheduled from 2:45 – 6 p.m., but due to a large response appointments are currently only available from 5-6 p.m.
Only donors with an appointment are eligible to attend this blood drive- as walk-ins are discouraged so that social distancing can be maintained. To schedule an appointment please call 815-213-1059.
Blood is always needed but at a holiday time it is needed even more. Each pint of blood collected helps three people.
The MVRBC has added incentives including a $10 voucher good at Amazon or a t-shirt to all donors.
In conjunction with MVRBC the NHS is eligible to earn funds as a part of the life-savings program. If they are able to meet their goal, the NHS members will have earned the opportunity to donate “Pay it Forward” funds to a non-profit organization of their choice.
The December drive beneficiary will be the Ronald McDonald house in Iowa City.
Past drives have benefited the Erie Food Pantry, QC Haven of Hope in Rock Island, The Heifer International, Samaritan’s Purse, Feed the Poor, Feed the Children, St. Jude’s, Mayo Clinic.
