Dixon, IL – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work on the structure carrying IL 64 / US 52 over the Mississippi River in Savanna will begin on August 5, 2019.
ERA Valdivia Contractors will be completing the $503,834 project involving an application of a protective polymer overlay on the deck of the structure. Lane closures with signals will be utilized at the structure.
Drivers should be prepared to stop. Work is expected to be completed by the end of August 2019. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
