Dixon, IL – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work on IL 5/IL 92 from Colona Road/Avenue of the Cities to the I-80/I-88 interchange will begin on Monday, August 5, 2019.
G.M. Sipes Construction, Inc. will be starting the $526,000 patching contract for roadway improvements. Intermittent lane closures will be installed in both the eastbound and westbound lanes for approximately six weeks to complete the repairs. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
