Today, we are excited to move one step closer to that goal by issuing a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to distribute grants to eligible community organizations and local governments.
Selected groups will serve as Regional Intermediaries, using their expertise and experience in executing and managing subawards to encourage full participation in the 2020 Census.
To ensure this effort includes organizations and local governments that can best reach Illinoisans, especially those in Hard-to-Count populations and geographies, we encourage you to circulate the NOFO announcement far and wide.
For groups interested in pursuing grants, useful information is posted at the “Pre-Award Eligibility Requirements” page at www.census.illinois.gov. In addition, IDHS will host a live Technical Assistance Webinar on August 8 at 1:00pm. (A recording of the webinar will be posted to www.census.illinois.gov afterwards.)
IDHS wants to help those pursuing grants to become GATA-compliant and to prepare for the NOFO submission deadline: September 6 at 5:00pm.
IDHS is grateful for all of the external, community input into the development of this NOFO and especially appreciative of your efforts to facilitate rapid progress under an aggressive publication deadline. Working together, we will make sure that Everyone Counts!
