IDOT Construction Updates: Route 136 in Fulton & Intersection of US Route 30 & IL Route 40 in Rock Falls

Route 136 in Fulton

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work will begin on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, on IL Route 136 in Fulton. Civil Constructors, Inc. will be starting the $183,000 project to complete hot mix asphalt resurfacing on IL Route 136 from west of 4th Street to 6th Street.


The improvements will require day time lane closures utilizing flaggers for the duration of the project which is expected to be completed by the end of October.

US Route 30 & IL Route 40 Intersection Work in Rock Falls

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that construction work has begun at the intersection of US Route 30 and IL Route 40 in Rock Falls. Last week, Martin & Co. Excavating started the $1.5 million project to complete drainage improvements, hot mix asphalt resurfacing and traffic signal upgrades at the intersection.


The improvements will require lane closures on both US Route 30 and IL Route 40 for the duration of the project. It is expected to be completed by the end of November.


Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
