IDOT: Be prepared for Intermittent Road Closures on John Deere Road and Westbound I-280

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, there will be intermittent road closures on westbound John Deere Road between the I-74 Interchange and the 35th Street overpass. On Tuesday, February 11th, between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., the westbound lanes will be intermittently closed for a maximum of 15 minutes for each closure. During these 15-minute closures, Collins & Hermann, Inc. will be removing the existing overhead sign truss and installing the new overhead sign truss over the westbound lanes.

IDOT further announces that weather permitting, there will be intermittent road closures of westbound I-280 east of the IL 92 interchange. Closures will be from 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11th until 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12th. The westbound lanes and westbound IL 92 off ramp will be intermittently closed for a maximum of 15 minutes for each closure. During these 15-minute closures, Collins & Hermann, Inc. will be removing the existing overhead sign truss and installing the new overhead sign truss over the westbound lanes.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through these areas. To avoid the work areas, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
