The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction shall resume on Monday, April 20, 2020, at the intersection of US 30 and IL 40 in Rock Falls. Martin & Co. Excavating will be completing the resurfacing of US 30 from Lindy Ave. to the Hennepin Canal and IL 40 from W. 16th St. to US 30. After resurfacing, pavement markings and landscaping will be completed. Lane closures will be required to complete the work, with a minimum of one lane open in each direction. The project is anticipated to be completed in approximately 4 weeks.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
