The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that IL 84, just south of US 30, will be closed to all through traffic from Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19, 2020. The closure will allow the Union Pacific (UP) Railroad to remove and replace the north crossing located in the area commonly known as “East Clinton”.
To allow continued traffic movement, a detour will be posted utilizing US 30, Dakin Road, and Ward Road.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
