Moline Road (old IL 2), West of Lyndon, to close on Tuesday, June 30 for Railroad Repairs

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that Moline Road (old IL 2), approximately 2.5 miles west of Lyndon, will be closed to all through traffic for one day only on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. The closure will allow the BNSF Railway to make an emergency repair to a defective rail located in the area known as “Denrock”.

Drivers are asked to be alert for the road closure and use alternate roadways when traveling this area. No detour will be marked.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
