Representative Tony McCombie announced that dozens of small businesses in the 71st District received either $10,000 or $20,000 in funding from the first round of Business Interruption Grants (BIG).
In total, $500,000 of BIG funding has been allocated to local businesses to help during the pandemic. “Main Street businesses are under economic siege in this pandemic,” McCombie said. “I encourage Northwest Illinois residents to buy local and frequent small businesses as much as possible during the pandemic so that those businesses and our communities can weather this storm and contribute to our much-needed economic recovery.”
