US 30 Bridge over Hennepin Feeder Canal in Rock Falls to receive $1.2 million rehabilitation

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work will begin on Monday, September 14, 2020, on the bridge carrying US Route 30 over the Hennepin Feeder Canal in Rock Falls.

Civil Constructors, Inc. will be starting the $1.2 million project to rehabilitate the structure. For the duration of the project, the bridge will be closed to traffic. A truck detour route will be posted utilizing I-88 to IL 40. The local detour route will utilize Industrial Park Road to East 11th Street to East 10th Street to IL 40. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-November.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
