It’s National Lineman Appreciation Day! Today is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the men and women who work around the clock to keep the power going.
State Representative Tony McCombie is not only celebrating National Lineman Day, but has also backed legislation in the Illinois House to recognize lineman, through the issuance of the Thank a Line Worker license plate decal. The bill would provide support to fund the “Thank a Line Worker Scholarship Fund,” which will pay for grants to support students studying electrical distribution at an Illinois college or university.
McCombie’s legislation passed unanimously in the Illinois House, and is now awaiting further consideration in the Senate.
