Today, House Republican members stood with first responders at the Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial and Medal of Honor Ceremony in Springfield. The ceremony is held annually to remember the Illinois firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty and to recognize those who have gone above and beyond in their service to their communities.
State Representative Tony McCombie attended the memorial with her husband, who also serves as a volunteer firefighter.
“This memorial serves as a reminder of just how much our first responders do to protect life and property,” said McCombie. “We honor those who have given their lives and thank everyone who continues to work to protect us.”
