State Representatives Tony McCombie (Savanna) and Ryan Spain (Peoria) will be hosting a joint telephone town hall event for constituents in their districts. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 6:00PM.
The town hall will be focused on the end of legislative session, and be an opportunity for the Representatives to discuss legislation passed in the Illinois House and a number of their priorities this session including responsible state spending, ethics reform, public safety, education, and more. The event will also serve as an opportunity for area residents to ask questions.
“This will be an opportunity for us to speak with our constituents to learn best how to address their concerns,” said McCombie. “We must be accessible to residents and answer any questions they have about what was accomplished in Springfield this session.”
Both McCombie and Spain are in the first term of their “new” legislative districts, which were significantly changed after the remap took effect this year. With new territories included in their district maps, it makes outreach events like the upcoming town hall even more important.
“Constituent outreach is one of the most important things we do once session wraps up in Springfield,” said Spain. “This event is just one aspect of that, and gives us time to connect with residents to hear their concerns and talk about what we’re fighting for in the legislature because of their input.”
Residents will receive a phone call to connect to the town hall on May 23rd, or they can reach out to the Representatives’ offices for the call-in information.
With questions about the event, residents can contact Rep. McCombie’s district office at (815) 291-8989 or Rep. Spain’s at (309) 690-7373.
