State Representative Tony McCombie is asking Northwest Illinois residents to join her in helping to lift the spirits of residents in long-term care facilities on Grandparent’s Day by helping make cards.
McCombie is encouraging residents in the 89th District Community—including students, parents, church groups, and local organizations—to participate in the Card Drive by dropping off cards or mailing them to her district office in Savanna. Once the cards are collected, they will be delivered to residents of the various long-term care facilities in communities within Northwest Illinois.
“This is an occasion where we can come together to help let a resident living in a long-term care facility know they are loved and appreciated,” said McCombie. “A hand-made card may seem like a small gesture but will most certainly make someone feel extra special!”
Grandparent’s Day cards will be accepted through Monday, September, 4. Participants may deliver or mail cards to State Representative Tony McCombie, 9317B IL Rt 84, Savanna, IL 61074.
