House Republican Leader Tony McCombie recently spoke to 150 members of the Illinois Licensed Beverage Assocation at their 137th Annual Convention and Business Meeting. The group gathered to hear from Leader McCombie, where she discussed the work lawmakers are doing in Springfield to protect small businesses and support the adult beverage industry.
McCombie has a strong family history with owning and operating bars, and working in them to help support her education. She was eager to speak to this group to connect with those who like her have a strong history with the industry.
“We know the bar business is not as simple as it used to be,” said McCombie during her remarks. “It seems we are facing an ever-changing atmosphere, not only with changes to the business community but with the beverage industry. As our economy changes, state laws seem to follow suit, and change is forced in the industry. No matter what is coming down the pipeline, it matters how we react. To do that, it is important that you stay involved, keep in touch with lawmakers and use your voice to advocate for this great industry!”
