McCombie to Honor Local Female Leaders, Calls for Nominations

Do you know a woman who deserves recognition in the community? House Minority Leader Tony McCombie (Savanna) wants to hear about it. Leader McCombie is asking for nominations from around the 89th legislative district on women who have gone above and beyond in the community to solve a problem, help those in need, or volunteer their services to a community organization.

From the nominations, two women will be chosen and invited to Springfield for a special women’s recognition event on March 6th where they will be among other remarkable women leaders from across Illinois to celebrate their accomplishments.

This event is spearheaded by McCombie and the House Republican caucus to honor rising female leaders during national Women’s History Month. This is the third annual event, and McCombie is looking forward to bringing leaders from her district to Springfield for a day of celebration, engagement, and collaboration.

“It is a privilege to bring together female leaders who are making an impact in communities across our state,” said McCombie. “I am excited to once again ask for nominations from my district so I can celebrate all the wonderful leadership we have here at the local level.”

Nomination submissions can be sent via email to Leader McCombie’s District Office: McCombie@ilhousegop.org. The email should include the following: your name, relation to the person you’re nominating, the nominee’s name and contact info (phone and email), and a brief description of why you’re nominating them. Please use the subject line: Women’s Recognition Event. Nominations are due by February 16!
