Next up was the Paul Simon Institute, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization focused on promoting better politics and smarter government and preparing students for careers in public service. The institute was named after Paul Simon, a two-term U.S. Senator from Illinois (1985-1997) and a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for the 1988 United States presidential election. He created the institute to research and provide constructive public policy resources, encourage others to take part in conversations on the issues of our time, and support the next generation of public leaders.
Leader McCombie was honored to speak at the Institute; it was a great crowd of students, faculty, and interested residents!
To round out the week, Leader McCombie visited Custom Aluminum Products in Genoa. The Leader met with Steve Dillett, the CEO of Custom Aluminum Products and took a tour of the facility.
