Today in Springfield House Minority Leader Tony McCombie attended the Illinois Police Officers Memorial. This is an annual ceremony to honor officers killed in the line of duty.
McCombie attends each year to show her support for law enforcement and their families. “It was a beautiful event that brought law enforcement from across the state together under one roof,” said McCombie. “We owe everything to those who work day in and day out to serve and protect.”
The event included multiple speeches from constitutional officers, including several remarks about the need to allow police officers to do their job–which the controversial SAFE-T Act has prevented.
