This week, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie spent time traveling across the district to visit with constituents and local elected officials. This summer, with legislative session adjourned, has enabled the Leader to attend local events, host legislative updates, and keep in touch with organizations across northwest Illinois. The House Minority Leader visited Polo, where she met with Mayor Mark Scholl – it was a great touch base on local and state issues!
McCombie’s next stop was in Mt. Morris where she visited Pinecrest Manor, a long-term care and senior living community.





Next up for McCombie was Stronghold Castle in Oregon, Illinois!
Stronghold Castle was built in 1928, as a summer retreat by Walter Strong, owner and publisher of the Chicago Daily News. Local residents are lucky to enjoy Stronghold as the site of an Olde English Faire in early October. Otherwise, today it is utilized as a conference, retreat and camping center operated by the Presbyterian Church. Leader McCombie enjoyed her tour of the Castle and grounds:
