The Pentagon and the U.S. Army Reserve on Tuesday identified four Army Reserve soldiers who were killed in a drone strike in Kuwait while supporting Operation Epic Fury, amid the escalating conflict involving Iran.
According to military officials, the soldiers were killed on March 1 when an unmanned aircraft system struck a command center at the Port of Shuaiba, a key logistics hub used by U.S. forces in the region. The attack occurred one day after the United States and Israel launched a military campaign against Iran, which has since responded with missile and drone strikes across the region.
All four soldiers were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. The command plays a critical role in supporting deployed forces by coordinating essential logistics, including food, fuel, water, ammunition, transportation, and equipment.
The soldiers identified were:
- Capt. Cody Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Florida
- Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota
- Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska
- Sgt. Declan Coady, 20, of Des Moines, Iowa
Two additional service members who were killed in the same attack have not yet been publicly identified as officials continue the notification process for their families.
Their loss is deeply felt across the military community and the nation. As the situation in the region continues to evolve, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie is taking time to honor the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of these soldiers who were serving in support of their fellow service members and the mission abroad.
