New Free Digital Library Resources Available to All Illinois Residents

Illinois residents now have free access to a wide range of digital library resources through the Secretary of State’s new Illinois Reliable Information Sources (IRIS) program.

The statewide initiative provides access to e-books, research databases, educational materials, career development tools, health information, business resources, test preparation materials, and more—all at no cost through local libraries or the Illinois State Library.

Available resources include:

  • Pre-K–12 educational content
  • Academic research databases
  • Health and wellness information
  • Business and entrepreneurship tools
  • Career readiness and workforce development resources
  • Test preparation and certification materials
  • Automotive repair manuals
  • Reference e-books
  • More than 260,000 fiction and nonfiction titles
