It was a busy week in the Illinois House with the 3rd reading bill deadline. There was significant floor action, lively debates, and a flurry of legislation passed.
Leader McCombie gave special recognition this week to Dan Goodwin; a dear friend to many in Illinois–and a treasured philanthropist who never gave up on improving our great state! Dan Goodwin’s family and friends were welcomed to the Capitol in his honor.
Leader McCombie presented an amendment in the House Agriculture Committee this week, to clarify aspects of her Illinois Forestry Fix bill.
McCombie spent time working with House Republican members during legislative session, including the newest caucus member: Patrick Sheehan. McCombie was also on the House Floor to congratulate State Rep. Nicole LaHa for her first bill, which passed unanimously on the House Floor.
Jen Sullivan served as Leader McCombie’s Page for the Day, and was given a warm welcome to the Capitol by the Illinois House!
There were countless advocacy groups in town this week; many of which met with Leader McCombie in her Capitol office. McCombie also spent time speaking with the Illinois Bankers and the Illinois Municipal League during their lobby day in Springfieid.
