IL 84 in Port Byron to Close for Road Construction Work beginning Sept 24

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work on IL 84 in Port Byron from Polk Street to Lynn Street will begin on Monday, September 24, 2018.

McCarthy Improvement Co. will be completing the $1.3 million project for the culvert, storm sewer, and roadway improvements. During the improvements, IL 84 will be closed to through traffic within Port Byron from Polk Street to Lynn Street for an estimated seven weeks.

A marked detour route will be installed utilizing Barber Creek Road (71st Ave.) to 256th Street, and 256th Street to Agnes Street (94th Ave.). Access to Main Street and local businesses from IL 84 will not be restricted.
