This week, Illinois lawmakers met with stakeholders to discuss energy in Illinois. House Minority Leader Tony McCombie was joined with colleagues State Representatives Dan Ugaste, Jackie Haas, and Travis Weaver along with Illinois Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Lou Sandoval and Executive Director of the Illinois Chamber’s Energy Council Alec Messina.
The meeting was hosted by Invenergy, a leading sustainable energy company headquartered in Illinois. The group had a spirited discussion on Illinois’ energy policy, the current state of the industry, and what needs to change to create a sustainable future.
“Today we had thoughtful conversations about the benefits and need for reliable, affordable and sustainable energy,” said Leader McCombie. “Growth requires collaboration between all partners and together we can be better!”
Following the visit, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie wanted to share several resources that came up in their discussion:
- Information regarding the safety of solar panels
- Information on the recycling of solar and wind.
- Lazard’s Levelized Cost of Energy, which compares the cost of energy across the electricity sector’s main power sources.
