Illinois has played an important role in our nation’s story, and as America’s 250th anniversary approaches, there are several opportunities to celebrate the people, places, and events that have shaped the state’s history.
In gearing up for the celebrations, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie stated, “I encourage residents to take part in local commemorations, visit our historic sites, and reflect on the freedoms and responsibilities we share as Americans.”
