McCombie Named “Friend of Ag” by IL Farm Bureau

House Minority Leader Tony McCombie recently hosted an Agriculture Roundtable event alongside her colleagues State Representative Jeff Keicher (DeKalb) and Brad Fritts (Dixon) to connect with local stakeholders in agriculture. The event was hosted at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau and served as a conversation on how state policy impacts agriculture and farming families throughout northwest Illinois.

The event culminated in a special honor for the lawmakers; all three members received the “Friend of Agriculture” award from the Illinois Farm Bureau, which was presented by Berkeley Boehne, President of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. The award is a designation based on their voting record in the General Assembly and support for agriculture-related legislation.

“This annual event is an essential reminder of the impact policies passed in Springfield have on our state’s largest industry,” said McCombie. “The conversations we have with our partners in agriculture don’t stop after this one event; I look forward to keeping our dialogue going as we move through the year.”

McCombie and her colleagues have hosted the Agriculture Roundtable event for the last three years and look forward to hosting more agriculture events in the future.
