Housing Provider Rent Assistance Applications Open May 17

Housing Provider Initiated Rental Assistance Program opens for applications on May 17 at 9:00 a.m. – June 6 at 11:59 p.m. at www.ILRPP.IHDA.org.

WHAT:

The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) will be launching the Illinois Rental Payment Program (ILRPP) providing up to $25,000 in emergency rental assistance for Illinois rental tenants that are at least 30 days behind on their rent. This is a housing provider initiated rental assistance program where the housing provider initiates the application via ILRPP.IHDA.org.

WHEN:

The portal opens at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17th and will continue through June 6th at 11:59 p.m.

WHO:

Eligible households may receive up to 15 months of rental assistance from past due rent owed from June 2020 and future rent through August 2021. Once the application has been initiated by the housing provider, tenants will receive email notification to complete their respective section. Applications are only accepted online and will be considered complete only when both the housing provider and tenant information is completed within the online application portal. Priority will be given to households with a member who is currently unemployed and households that earn below 50% of the Area Median Income, adjusted for household size.

HOW:

Rock Island Economic Growth Corporation d/b/a Economic Growth Corporation (GROWTH) is serving as a Housing Stability Service Provider for ILRPP and is available to assist housing providers and tenants with any questions or assistance with the online application. GROWTH has a dedicated application intake center equipped with laptops and internet connection to assist in the application process. The application intake center is in the McKesson Lofts Building at 100 19th Street, Suite 104 in downtown Rock Island, IL.

GROWTH is serving multiple Illinois counties with the ILRPP which include: Rock Island County, Mercer County, Whiteside County, Carroll County, Jo Daviess County, Ogle County, and Sangamon County. Any housing provider or tenant living within these counties can call GROWTH for assistance and also by appointment.
