Today House Republican Leader Tony McCombie recognized United States Attorney from the Northern District, John Lausch, as he plans to resign at the end of this week.
Lausch was sworn in as United States Attorney on November 22, 2017—and in his more than five years leading the Northern District, he led high profile investigations, battled violent crime, and prosecuted members of organized criminal street gangs and illegal gun offenders in Chicago and northern Illinois. His work cannot go unrecognized, and Illinois government is better off due to the comprehensive, bipartisan approach he oversaw to combat corruption.
The Illinois House also adopted a resolution to honor his service.
