State Representative Tony McCombie recently recognized Illinois State Scholars in the 89th District. Presented annually by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, this recognition honors approximately the top ten percent of high school seniors statewide for their academic performance. Standardized test scores and performance-based academic data are key factors in the formula used to determine eligibility.
Representative McCombie has 111 scholars in the district from 25 different schools. Each scholar was presented with a special certificate of recognition from the Illinois House of Representatives to commemorate their achievement for the 2023-2024 school year. The year represents the students’ first year in college.
“We have a number of amazing students in our district and I’m proud to recognize their academic achievements–and let them know to keep up the great work as they continue on in their studies,” said McCombie.
