At a press conference today in the state capitol, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie gave an update on legislative session, which was slated to end today: May 19th. The legislature, under the control of the Democrat majority, has failed to pass a budget for the new fiscal year, and will require extra time to get the job done.
“We are here to work, to represent parts of all 102 counties in our state, so bring us to the table,” said McCombie.
“As I stated in inauguration, we have an opportunity with leadership changes to reimagine what we expect from our state government. I asked Speaker Welch to NOT be afraid, to use our knowledge, benefit from our talents. We are problem solvers.”
