1st Annual Savanna Kayak River Cleanup
Please join us for our 1st Annual Free Kayaking Event cleaning up the river. Choose to start at the US 52 Green Island boat launch in the Maquoketa River (5-6 hour trek) or Miller’s Hollow boat launch (2-3 hour trek) and end at the Savanna Marina.
We will supply:
– Garbage bags
– Kayaks, paddles and life vests for up to 15 people
– Transportation
– Waste disposal

Bring your own gloves, personal items and food/water for the trek. If you’d like to join us with your own kayak, we can transport the kayak to the drop-in.
We will have a pontoon boat to help with any full trash bags from kayakers or larger items found on the river.
We will meet at the old Shopko Parking lot, 251 S 4th St in Savanna.

Anyone wanting to reserve their spot in one of our kayaks, please leave a comment and we’ll hold a kayak for you and expect your commitment to the event.
Anyone else with a boat that would like to join, we can work together to check in on all the kayakers.
