39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, JR Memorial Service & Award

Join us for the 39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service & Awards. We will have an in-person event at the MLK Center, as well as a live-stream video on Facebook and YouTube.

This year’s theme is, A Conscientious Stance, inspired by Dr King’s famous quote, “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor political nor popular, but he must take it because his conscience tells him it is right.”

This event will feature a keynote speaker, plus a variety of performances and presentations in honor of Dr. King. Two scholarships will be awarded, and the “I Have A Dream” Award will be presented to a Rock Island citizen for exemplary community service and enormous contributions made to the community.
