Pool 13 River Clean – up
The public is invited to participate in an Upper Mississippi River cleanup in Pool 13. The river cleanup is part of One Mississippi’s “River Days of Action” event that is being sponsored by the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, Stewards of Upper Mississippi River Refuge, the City of Savanna, and Delta Waterfowl.
Participants will meet at Marquette Park along the Mississippi River shoreline in Savanna, Illinois. The public is encouraged to bring boats, kayaks, canoes and other water transport vehicles. Past flooding events on the river have resulted in a large amount of debris and trash being scattered along shorelines, islands, backwaters and the main river channel.
