Watershed Bus Tour

The Watershed Steering Committee of the Central South Branch of the Kishwaukee River Watershed is sponsoring a guided bus tour.  Our guides for the day will be Mike Konen, Department of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at  Northern Illinois University and Dean Johnson, Executive Director and Watershed Coordinator at DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The charter bus will load at the Genoa City Hall Parking Lot – 333 East First Street. 

There will be some walking involved as part of the tour.  Stops will include the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Genoa, IL, the Natural Resource Education Center in Russell Woods Forest Preserve, Paul and Linda Kuhn’s Farm, and the South Branch Prairie/Hoppe Farm.

Registration is limited and will close on June 11, 2024.  There is no cost to attend this event. Funding for this project provided, in part, by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency through Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
