Last night, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie hosted a successful telephone town hall event to connect with her constituents. During the call, Rep. McCombie and State Representative Ryan Spain (Peoria), discussed legislative issues and took questions from area residents on issues important to them.
The call lasted an hour and topics ranged from the impending state budget showdown to the local tax burden. McCombie and Spain have neighboring districts and were happy to provide this update to their constituents, ahead of the last week of legislative session in Springfield.
McCombie wants to remind residents that if they missed this event, there are several upcoming opportunities to hear a legislative update recapping the legislative session; the Representative will be hosting three “End of Session” Wrap-Up events to inform constituents about what transpired this year in Springfield. Those events will be held on the following dates:
- Tuesday, May 30th at Genoa City Hall with State Representative Jeff Keicher (Sycamore) from 5:00pm-6:00pm
- Thursday, June 1st at Highland Community College in Freeport with State Representative John Cabello (Machesney Park) and Freeport Mayor Jodi Miller from 11:30am-1:00pm
- Wednesday, June 7th at the Warren Community Building with Warren Village President Kirk Raab from 2:30—4:00pm
Additionally, residents can always reach out to Rep. McCombie’s district office by phone or email at 815-291-8989 and firstname.lastname@example.org.
